Classical music takes over at the Lac Souterrain with this duo concert, as part of the Tibor Varga 2023 Music Academy.
Jean-Louis Capezzali
Jean-Louis Capezzali discovered the oboe at the Conservatoire de Versailles, where he received the Gold Medal and the Honorary Prize. After obtaining his Certificat National d’Aptitude d’Enseignement du Hautbois (CA), he was appointed principal oboe of the Concerts Lamoureux. In 1984, he was also appointed principal oboe of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France. In addition to his orchestral career, he performs as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the world.
Jean-Louis Capezzali teaches at the CNSMD in Lyon, where he is also responsible for the woodwind department, and – since 2008 – at the Haute École de Musique in Lausanne.
Sophie Le Denmat
The oboist Sophie Le Denmat studied with Hélène Devilleneuve and Jean-Louis Capezzali, both soloists with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. After passing through the Paris Conservatoire, she perfected her skills by joining the Ostinato Orchestra based at the Opéra-Comique for two years. There she obtained her orchestral musician’s licence.
Today, Sophie Le Denmat plays regularly with the Orchestre Colonne, the Orchestre National de Lille, the Orchestre Nationale d’Île de France and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. She also performs as a chamber musician or soloist and takes part in various important cultural events, such as the beautiful Pablo Casals Festival in Prades. Passionate about music education, she has been teaching since 2005 at the Conservatoire de Puteaux (France), where she is head of the Wind Department.
